WATERSHED: "That area of land, a bounded hydrologic system, within which all living things are inextricably linked by their common water course and where, as humans settled, simple logic demanded that they become part of a community."

Water and Communities
The rise of civilization and the continuing prosperity of humankind is intricately connected to the presence of clean, accessible water. At the center of every community, is a source of water that everyone must share.
Today, the relationship between communities and water is still evolving, and we continue to innovate to better conserve and manage the water around us in order to meet our food, transportation, energy, and recreational needs. It is clear our communities must learn to adapt quickly to the changing environmental conditions that global climate change presents.
Blue Legacy aims to capture the story of inspired individuals working together to protect and preserve our water resources. And in the process, we highlight the bold conviction of those who fight to “take back their watersheds” and persuade decision-makers to address critical water issues that effect their community.
