Ben Pederick

Award winning independent film maker Ben Pederick has been producing social change media for over a decade. Inspired by his studies in International Development, Ben has made media with union activities, grassroots organizations, arts and culture bodies, educational institutions and governments. Ben further developed his camera skills through an ongoing relationship with surfing and skateboarding culture. Groups interested in finding solutions to problems with an international reach have found that Ben's alternative and independent vision, matched with a willingness to take the camera to extreme places, has given them a new and exciting way of voicing their mission and aims through unique films and videos.

Now living in Cambodia, Ben has productively engaged with a regional community of individuals and organizations who are working towards social change, human rights and environment justice. In 2008 Ben shared the award for Best Film at the Cambodian Environmental Film Festival for ‘Prey Lang: One Forest, One Future'. His partners have included World Vision, Save The Children, International Labor Organization, USAID, East West Management Institute and the Australian Institute of Sports.

The art of making the stories illuminated by the work of such organizations continues to inform Ben's present and future pans.
