Blue Legacy expeditions spotlight critical water resources and combine traditional filmmaking with “live” social media campaigns to give mainstream audiences the opportunity to learn through credible exploration and be inspired by the thrill of adventure-based conservation. We blend credible coverage of key water issues with new media trends and technologies in an effort to deliver mainstream audience engagement that:

• Challenges all individuals to identify and connect with their personal water footprint and local watershed;
• Explores the global interconnectivity of water through a better practical understanding of the hydrosphere and water cycle; and
• Inspires a broader and better-informed conversation on critical water issues by exploring timely and sometimes unexpected stories related to our connections to water.

Building resiliency back into these vital systems necessitates the delivery of sufficient quantity and quality of water to our communities and ecosystems so they can function properly and continue to be a source of community prosperity and healthy ecosystems.

Preserving Fragile Water Treasures

Our generation is the last to face the enormous challenge—and responsibility—of preserving many of our fragile water places before they are lost to over-development, industrial contamination, and environmental mismanagement.

Helping Communities “Take Back” their Watershed

Blue Legacy is an organization built upon a framework of dialogue and public engagement extending from grassroots organizers to national decision-makers. We work to help people understand and value their everyday relationship with water through visual and interactive storytelling inspired by our expeditions around the globe which are designed to engage people in critical conversations about the health, quality, and quantity of our water resources. Our goal is to empower and activate the people who are changing our water planet’s future and to inspire others to do the same.
